Views of the Breathtaking Coromandel Peninsula
I believe the most amazing place on earth is the Coromandel Peninsula. Especially during the spring when tourists haven’t arrived yet. It gives you a chance to dig your own spa on ‘Hot Water Beach’, as long as the tide is right when you’re there.
Coming from overseas in 2010 and 2012 and having a defined itinerary, I unfortunately missed this experience twice. But as we say, things come in threes. After a lot of kilometres from Europe and a huge amount of patience, I finally reached my aim five years after my first visit to New Zealand.
The most breathtaking beach in the Coromandel is undoubtedly Cathedral Cove with a very special atmosphere. It’s about a 30 minute walk, but it’s worth the adventure to swim in Te Whanganui-A-Hei Marine reserve.
What’s magical about New Zealand is that there is such magnificent natural scenery and sites, no matter which direction you travel.

I’ve been a Spearo for a few years now and have had varying levels success (I come home empty handed most of the time).
To help fix this problem I’ve recently joined the Auckland Freediving Club and I’ve been training pretty hard over the past few months. In that time I’ve taken my breath hold from 2.30 to 4.30. I’ve also developed an urge to get out and do more than just spearfishing now. I’ve been watching free diving videos on YouTube and decided I want to do some of the cool stuff they do. So, over the summer my plan is to get out with a GoPro and hit up some of the awesome dive spots N.Z has to offer and capture some awesome footage.

I’ve been loving the new television series ‘How to get away with murder’ It’s about a group of ambitious law students and their criminal defense professor who become entangled in a murder plot.
Definitely a good show to watch if you’re into crime and mystery.
