Because of wide brand recognition in the English-speaking world, Amazon Australia now ranks as the fastest growing of the company’s 13 marketplaces. There’s no question that Amazon Australia is picking up speed. More local sellers mean Amazon can improve its product selection to draw more customers. And next months roll out of Echo/Alexa will likely increase traffic. So, Australian retailers: when will you put your Amazon Australia plans into action?

Amazon to Bring Echo, Alexa Down Under
In February, Amazon Australia plans to bring its Echo devices to Australia and New Zealand. Power by its associated digital assistant, Alexa, the devices will likely help foster an increase in Amazon Australia customers (and purchases). Amazon will tailor Alexa to local markets. For example, for New Zealand, Alexa will be fine-tuned to Kiwi sports teams and news source. Plus, Amazon plans to give Alexa some Te Reo Maori language capability.
