Having some experience in Business Process Management, showed me first hand that the key to improvement doesn’t come from enhancements, it comes from simplification. It’s easy to enhance something that doesn’t work. It’s much harder to develop or utilise something that’s simple and easy to use. How does this apply to POS Systems and the way it affects purchasing and the customer experience? Well in short, if it’s simple then people will use it efficiently. If it’s used efficiently, it’s going to mean:

  • Less chance of you running out of stock, meaning more sales and happy customers
  • Less money spent on stock, meaning happier retailers. Remember in some business structures the retailer is the customer too (i.e. franchisees).

Here’s our 4 reasons why a great POS and Inventory system improves purchasing, but more importantly your customer experience:

1.  Multi-Channel Retail

Being able to sell from a single central system across stores is probably one of the greatest benefits to improving your purchasing abilities. Having that snapshot of how all your stores are performing and spending less time worrying about managing your stock replenishments transforms your stores into a slick operation.

2. Mobility

It’s no surprise mobile functionality has to be included on this list. Being able to transact on the go and see the same information across all devices and stores mean’s you’re not only taking the sales to your customers, but you’re maintaining great data integrity.

3. Speed

Remember the days where if a customer wanted to make purchase you would have to use a cash register and maintain hundreds of receipts? With cloud POS, it makes it quicker for customers to transact, meaning less time waiting and more time enjoying your product. It also makes reporting and doing your financials a tonne of paper easier!

4. Reporting

Being able to track customers, payments and sales gives your insight into which of your products are selling the most, and which ones aren’t so you can manage your business and identify the best ways to grow your retail store.
